With the weather starting to warm up that means it’s time to begin planning for a summer filled with adventure, creativity, fun and friendship. Durham Parks and Recreation (DPR) provides children and teens with the incredible opportunity to make new friends, learn new skills, and create lifelong memories. DPR Summer Camps will begin June 23 and run through August 15, 2025. Whether your child is interested in arts and crafts, sports, outdoor exploration, or STEM activities, we have a camp that’s perfect for them!

DPR’s Summer Camps provide a safe and engaging environment where kids can grow, explore, and have fun. Our dedicated staff ensures that each camper enjoys a well-rounded experience that fosters teamwork, creativity, and confidence. With a variety of options available, families can choose the camp that best suits their child’s interests and schedule.

We offer three exciting camp options to fit your family’s needs:

Traditional Camp: Ages 5-12

Camp sessions run for eight weeks from 7:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and offer a mix of games, arts & crafts, swimming, health and wellness activities, and day trips. This camp provides a full-day experience packed with adventure and enrichment.

Half-Day Camps: Ages 5-12

Perfect for those looking for a focused experience, Half-Day Camps offer morning sessions from 7:30 a.m. – Noon and afternoon session from 1:30 – 6 p.m. with unique weekly themes such as:

  • Under the Sea: Ocean Week, where kids can dive into marine exploration.
  • Shoot & Score: Basketball, kids get the chance to learn the fundamentals of the game.
  • Culinary Tour: Cooking Around the World, kids can expand their tastebuds and try new flavors as well as new cooking techniques.
  • Build It: Construction Camp, where kids can get hands-on with creative projects.

Teen Camp: Ages 13-17

Designed specifically for teens, this camp includes leadership development, team-building activities, engaging workshops, and exciting field trips that encourage personal growth and independence.

Registration for Summer Camp 2025 opens on Monday, March 17 at 9 a.m. Camps historically fill up fast, so be sure to register early to secure your spot!
