Sheetz is giving customers more relief at the pump ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.
As reported by CNN, the popular gas station & convenience store chain dropped the price of its Unleaded 88 fuel by 40 cents per gallon, effective immediately. The deal, available at over 500 locations that sell that gas type, lasts until the end of November.
In case you don’t know, Unleaded 88 is safe to use in all vehicles made after 2001, as well as flex-fuel vehicles.
The deal comes as AAA predicts the busiest Thanksgiving in years. Nearly 80 million people are forecasted to travel for the holiday, an increase of 1.7 million from last year. The agency adds that nearly 90% of travelers will be driving to their destinations.
The price reduction comes as gas is already about 25 cents cheaper overall, compared to last year. GasBuddy said that many drivers will see prices below $3 per gallon.
“Gas prices, after two-plus years of sizzling because of outside factors like Covid and Russia, are finally coming back into balance,” GasBuddy’s Patrick De Haan previously told CNN.
With that in mind, Sheetz is adding the additional discount to give a possible boost to convenience store sales.
