As the saying goes, laughter is the best medicine, and for comedy icon Marlon Wayans, that couldn’t be more true.

In a career that spans over three decades, we have seen him conquer the big and small screens as a member of one of comedy’s most legendary families. From comedic classics like Scary Movie and White Chicks to dramatic roles in Requiem For A Dream and, most recently, Bel Air, Wayans has shared his gift in many ways while also leaving room to grow.

With his “Wild Child Comedy Tour” (which makes a stop at DPAC on Nov. 16), Wayans is looking to tackle stand-up, providing a set that is both funny and, in many ways, therapeutic. In his exclusive interview with Karen Clark, he chats about how comedy has helped him navigate through triumphant and traumatic times, while also giving insight into his illustrious career. He also gives his thoughts on the ladies’ views of him as “the fine brother,” which he humbly (and hilariously) questions, and also spills some tea on the Wayans brothers’ departure from (and return to) the Scary Movie franchise.

With the Scary Movie revival, a role in Jordan Peele’s upcoming horror flick Him and more roles on the horizon, it is clear that Wayans has no signs of slowing down any time soon. We cannot wait to see what he has in store next!
