A Cary man is facing charges after bringing a concealed gun to North Carolina State University.
As reported by WRAL, 24-year-old Zachary Olson was charged Monday (Sept. 9) with felony carrying a gun on educational property and misdemeanor carrying a concealed weapon. Olson was arrested by NC State University Police on Monday after bringing a Ruger Max-9 pistol on campus.
According to Broadcastify radio traffic, a “suspicious” person was reported at a nearby Chipotle on Hillsborough Street. The person, believed to be Olson, allegedly threatened a student, saying he would “teach them a lesson.” He was later spotted walking toward fraternity houses before he was arrested.
It is unclear if Olson is a student, but his employer is listed as the Wake County District Attorney’s Office. He was given a $3,000 bond.
This is a developing story.Â
