Social Media Influencer Brittany Renner Converts To Islam

Brittany Renner appears to have converted to Islam. The 32-year-old influencer took to Instagram where she posted two videos in the past few days wearing a hijab.

Renner has stopped short of confirming whether she is a Muslim, but in the first video she posted titled “Trust Your Wings,” she spoke of understanding that the messages she shares can apply to herself and trusting “signs” from the universe. 

“It’s almost as if we’re waiting for this moment to feel ready — you’re not gonna feel ready for something you’ve never done,” she said in the clip. “That’s why you have to get pushed.”

She went on to say that a bird doesn’t trust the branch it lands on and that it trusts its wings and we should do the same. It’s not clear if these remarks are in reference to her new garb,  but her words could be applicable to anyone entering a new season in their life.

Renner followed up her initial video with another one the following day that’s been viewed more than 2 million times. In it, she explains she’s doing an overhaul of her wardrobe. She’s once again wearing a hijab as she discusses the update. 

“Out with the old, in with the new,” she said. “Manifesting a new wardrobe Inshallah.”

The influencer said she’s unsure of how her new look with work given her contractual obligations. She lists Fashion Nova as one of her brand collaborators on her Instagram page. She’s paid to model clothing marketed as “sexy” from that website. As of writing, her provocative photos remain on her Instagram page.

Renner also addressed the fact that her arms were showing in both of her videos. She blames it on the hot weather and said she sweats. She’s looking into Botox under her arms to prevent sweating in order to adapt to the modest look.

She hasn’t posted anything else pertaining to the Islam after her initial two videos. Reaction has been swift with several people accusing her of making a mockery of the religion. However, there are comments praising her for accepting Allah into her life.

Renner is most known for her past romance with NBA star PJ Washington which landed her in the headlines over a number of scandalous statements in regards to the pair’s age difference. She and Washington dated for about a year and they share a child.
