Michael Jai White Stars In New MMA Film, Remembers Kimbo Slice
Actor Michael Jai White stars in Never Back Down: No Surrender a mixed martial arts film that debuts on DVD and digital today, June 7. The action-packed film follows former MMA champion Case Walker as he travels to Thailand to train a friend for a major fight.
“It’s kind of like a Rocky movie but with MMA. I play a character that’s trying to get back in the ring and become a champion again. We shot it in Thailand about a year ago.”
On the passing of Kimbo Slice:
“My heart sank when I heard the news. I didn’t even know he was sick. He was a real good guy, that’s why he became a phenomena. He had every reason to be a negative type of person but he was so positive.”
