A Plane Landed On The Shoulder Of 540 This Morning

If you were late getting to work this morning, you now have the perfect excuse. A plane landed on I-540 this morning at Leesville Road. Thankfully, the pilot was not hurt.
According to reports, the pilot reported no oil pressure shortly after takeoff from the Raleigh-Durham International Airport. The pilot was cleared to return to the airport, but told air traffic control that he wouldn’t make it back.
