It’s the first day of school for traditional calendar students in districts all over the state. A shortage of teachers in Wake County Schools exist with at least 100 open teaching positions. This gap in teacher staffing comes after a summer of trying to gauge how lawmakers will fund the district when it comes to teacher pay.
