In North Carolina, Almost 58% of public school children applied to receive free or reduced price lunch. Hungry kids can’t learn or develop normally. Good nutrition is critical in the first years of life. Childhood food insecurity leads to developmental, health, and behavioral problems. It’s also difficult to concentrate and perform well in school.
