A Colorado mother sent her child to school with a sandwich, string cheese and Oreo cookies, according to ABC News. Her 4-year-old daughter was not permitted to eat the cookies and the school sent the child home with a note indicating that the cookies weren’t an acceptable part of a healthy lunch.
The head of the preschool said the note shouldn’t have gone out. Also, the mother says the school sends mixed messages. She said that her child has been given jelly beans by the school as a snack. She also said that the school has requested that parents provide candy for an Easter celebration.
